The Shelburne Falls Welcome Committee supports refugees who are establishing homes and livelihoods in Western MA while coping with the loss of refugee services when immigration program were cut. We help with evictions, new apartments, job hunting, workforce training, job placement prerequisites, ESOL, transportation, health care, food, and more. And we could use your help!

We are also sponsoring two young families in Syria who want to join their extended family members already living in Western Massachusetts. They had been living in Jordan since 2012, seeking asylum in the US. When the US border was closed in Jan, they were deported back to Syria where they are facing overwhelming hardship with six small children. We sent $5,000 that they used to open a small grocery store so that they could generate some income to support their families. We will help them and other families come to Western Mass. when the border opens again to those seeking asylum.
